Marske Hall is a nursing home in Marske-by-the-Sea, in Redcar and Cleveland. We support up to 30 individuals who require nursing care due to a physical disability or neurological condition. People aged over 18 years old come to live at Marske Hall which is a short distance to the sea, wonderful promenade, and beach.
Marske Hall might have been built in 1625, but this Grand Manor House is the heart of our local community and has been specially adapted over the years to allow wheelchair access throughout the buildings and our amazing, well-kept gardens.
Our specialist, nursing staff team are proud to support people who have needs resulting from physical disabilities and neurological conditions including spinal cord injuries, acquired brain injuries, stroke, cerebral palsy, Huntington’s disease, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson’s disease, spina bifida & hydrocephalus.
Our dedicated staff team of Registered Nurses are highly skilled and trained to deliver specialist and complex nursing care and have significant experience with tracheostomy or PEG/NG care. We also focus on supporting the individuals who live at Marske Hall with all round health & wellbeing programmes, rehabilitation, community access, enablement & transitioning to more independent accommodation, volunteering & purposeful activities.
We have a large activity hall with accessible rise and fall worktops, well kept, full accessible gardens and three wheelchair accessible vehicles.
Tracking hoists and portable hoists are available throughout the home.
All bedrooms at Marske Hall have ensuite facilities or wet rooms. We have a lift to help people get around our home. We also have two further accessible bathrooms with jacuzzi baths.
A mobile sensory tent also is available at the home which can often be found being enjoyed outside during the summer months. We are currently upgrading our multi-functional sensory room and plan to open it shortly.
We are proud of our 5* Food Hygiene Award and all our meals are freshly prepared and cooked by our experienced catering team, using pictorial menus and catering for specialised diets where required, all which can be enjoyed in our large dining room.
Marske Hall benefits from physiotherapist assistants and visiting physiotherapy to support individuals in our accessible gym.
We are embedded within our local community and welcome in the community for summer fayres and activities throughout the year.
We are close to public transport (bus and train) which connects us easily with the surrounding areas.
Individuals living at Marske Hall benefit from having both an Activities Coordinator who plans activities based on individual’s interests and needs and a Volunteer Coordinator. We have visiting volunteers who have supported us for many years who bring their own experiences and unique skills to support people living at Marske Hall. Our volunteer network support us to plan and hold regular activities and events like coffee mornings, themed evenings, parties, fayres, quiz nights and regular trips out.
We can support individuals at Marske Hall on a short term / long term basis and can also accept respite placements for shorter stays.
