We specialise in supporting people who have varying needs as a result of physical and long term neurological conditions including Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, acquired brain injury and motor neurone disease.
Our Registered Nurse teams are highly skilled and trained to deliver specialist and complex nursing care and have significant experience with tracheostomy, PEG care, catheter care, wound management and the provision of end of life care. The full-time support we provide is flexible and designed to help build skills, inspire confidence and encourage people to live more independently.
We work directly with each individual to develop a personalised support programme based on their needs, wishes and aspirations. This includes personal care, health & wellbeing programmes, community engagement, physiotherapy, enablement, volunteering & activities and respite and step-down packages.
I qualified as a learning disability nurse in 1994 from the West Yorkshire College of health studies. I worked as a staff nurse with men who had severe learning disabilities and
challenging behaviour for 10 years.I then went on to manage supported living services, again with people who had a learning disability and complex needs where I was for 14 years.
I have post qualifications in management, autism, behaviour, clinical hold instructing and aromatherapy massage. I am also a sign off mentor for Huddersfield University nursing
I believe the people we support should be at the heart of everything we do and they should have as much choice and control in their lives as they would like.
