Brightlingsea is a residential home for clients with complex physical disabilities and learning disabilities. We cater for young adults including those transitioning from children’s services.
The service on the ground floor supports clients with complex physical disabilities and is wheelchair accessible. The bedrooms are large and have wet room en-suite facilities. There is also a large communal bathroom with a bath. There is a kitchen and living area for residents to enjoy.
I have worked in the health and social care since I left school at 17. It isn’t something I just fell into – it was what I always wanted to do. I have worked with a wide range of individuals from people with dementia, mental health and children. I have had the opportunity to work in different roles over the past 12 years as a support worker, activities coordinator, team leader, Deputy and registered manager for supported living and residential services across Essex.
I am very driven and passionate about my work and my ultimate goal at the end of it all is to make sure that the people who live at the services I work at are happy and safe and the staff employed are trained and confident to deliver a high standard of care and support.
