Situated in a residential area in Halifax, a short distance from the centre, Alexander House is an 18-bedroom care home, which includes ten rooms with en-suite facilities. Our lounge and dining room are open plan, our sun lounge conservatory provides residents with stunning views across the moor, and we have a passenger lift to provide access to each floor.
Alexander House has a 5* food hygiene rating and our menu caters for a variety of needs, preferences and beliefs, with residents served seasonal vegetables and fresh fruit daily. We are situated close to various local amenities, including a paper shop, pharmacy, laundrette, sandwich shop and a supermarket, with a direct bus route into the town centre nearby.
I have worked at Alexander House since 1994, starting out as a Care Assistant, before becoming a Senior Carer, a Head Carer, then a Registered Manager. I work alongside a fantastic team of staff, including my Team Leader who I work with every day.
Many of my staff have provided between ten and twenty-years’ service at Alexander House and our Cook has worked here for as long as I have. Our Activities Co-ordinator is available five days a week and this ensures everyone is stimulated with a range of activities.
It is important to me that we support all of our residents in varying aspects of daily life, whilst promoting independence. Alexander House has always achieved a ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and we pride ourselves on delivering the highest standard of care.
