Skills Centre
Our Skills Centres for people with Learning Disabilities provide personalised day-support, enabling and empowering individuals to maximise their opportunities to engage in social, occupational and educational activities. This personalisation is enabled through flexible and responsive planning and staffing processes, enabling the services to adjust and adapt delivery to meet individual requests and needs.
Whilst each service has a physical hub, our support is built on maximising community engagement and resources. Working in partnership with statutory, voluntary sector and private organisations and businesses, we develop targeted support plans with each individual, focused on creating opportunities for them to explore interest and develop new skills. This extends into sourcing formalised educational courses and qualifications, providing tangible work experience (such as that gained in our community cafes) right through to helping them secure paid jobs.
