Dear Relatives and Friends

I wanted to write to you to update on our COVID-19 policy.

I am afraid that it remains that visitors are not permitted inside our services, apart from where we have designated visiting areas with separate entrances from the outside and floor to ceiling screens. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide these rooms in all of our services due to space constraints or lack of a separate entrance. For those services without indoor visiting rooms, we continue to offer outdoor visiting or window visits. Please contact the service manager to check what visiting regime is currently in place. We have strict protocols in place to ensure the safety of all and therefore request you follow our booking system by calling the service. In some exceptional circumstances, we can offer indoor visiting, full PPE must be worn and will be supplied by the service. This is to maintain necessary infection control measures during the current COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. We will still ensure that vital medical visits are made, ensuring that they wash their hands on entering, wear full PPE, and we will be asking all visitors to ensure they have no symptoms and will be taking their temperature.

Our services have not yet received Lateral testing kits to enable indoor visits. When we receive these, we will provide a further update.

We know how important communication between residents, the clients we support, friends and family are, and all of our services are set up for video calling to enable you to keep in touch and we are confident that our staff are doing all they can to ensure that life in our services remains as comfortable and sociable as possible, as we support them with delivering interactive activities, whilst practising physical distancing.

I am afraid that it remains that visitors are not permitted inside our services, apart from in some exceptional circumstances. This is to maintain necessary infection control measures during the current COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. We will still ensure that vital medical visits are made, ensuring that they wash their hands on entering, and we will be asking all visitors to ensure they have no symptoms and will be taking their temperature.

In some instance we are enabling outdoor visits via a booking system but have strict protocols to ensure the safety of all. We are also looking at creating indoor visiting rooms where safe to do so. We know how important communication between residents, the clients we support, friends and family is, and all of our services are set up for video calling to enable you to keep in touch and we are confident that our staff are doing all they can to ensure that life in our services remains as comfortable and sociable as possible, as we support them with delivering interactive activities, whilst practising physical distancing.
