1st Enable are members of the national Restraint Reduction Network (RRN)
1st Enable have recently worked to take the RRN Pledge to be named as one of the providers who pledge to work towards the reduction restrictive practices. For their pledge to be approved they had to submit an organisational restrictive practice reduction strategy for their approval.
This includes addressing 6 key areas.
Strategy 1: LEADERSHIP AND GOVERNANCE
Strategy 2: USING DATA TO INFORM PRACTICE
Strategy 3: STAFF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
Strategy 4: PREVENTATIVE MEASURES AND PERSONALISED SUPPORT
Strategy 5: INVOLVING THOSE WHO RECIEVE YOUR SERVICES
Strategy 6: CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Out of these 6 they choose 3 priority areas that they will work on to achieve positive outcomes over the next 2 years.
1st Enable have set up a focus group who will meet quarterly to review the organisational strategy and develop actions to achieve identified outcomes.
The organisation’s strategy and 3 areas of priority will be published on the RRN website so that anyone visiting their site can see 1st Enable are a provider whose pledge has been approved.
This also holds 1st Enable accountable to ensure they are achieving what they have pledged to achieve.
